About the 2019 Exchange Program

GYAP 2019

We're celebrating 11 years of global leadership programming for high school students to travel across the globe.  Our participants are afforded an amazing opportunity to foster transatlantic relationships with their peers in a variety of countries around the world. The current GYAP travel destinations include: Mexico, Cuba, South Africa, Germany, Brazil, South Korea  and China.

SOUTH AFRICA

JOHANNESBURG AND CAPE TOWN

  • Theme: “Examining Race Relations in the United States and South Africa: Where do we go from here?”
  • Travel Dates: May 28 - June 9
  • Travel Costs:  $3,100

Student Benefits: Visit Civil Rights museums, learn history of the Civil Rights and Anti-Apartheid movements, diplomacy training, flights to/within South Africa, service learning, and homestay with local family. 


CUBA

HAVANA AND VINALES

  • Theme: "Explore and Expand Your Reach"
  • Travel Dates: June 9 - June 15
  • Travel Cost: $1,500

Student Benefits: Free passport, round trip to Havana, hotel accommodations, most meals, ground transportation, entrance fees to museums, flight insurance, Global Leadership Academy, and service learning activities. 


GERMANY

NUREMBURG AND MUNICH

  • Theme: “Promoting Transatlantic Relations: A Peer-to-Peer Exchange”
  • Travel Dates: July 6 - July 28 
  • Travel Cost: $1,500

Student Benefits: Learn German language, history and culture, visit German companies and museums, leadership and service learning, flight to Germany, travel within Germany, and homestay with local family.
